Beebe doesn't have the spine to deal with him or Osborne. I emphasize class because that is something this untractable lout has none of. I think Pelini may be and OSU alum, so maybe he learned from the master himself. Does any school want this type of nutcase representing them in front of a national TV audience? I'd like to think that Pelini and his idiot brother work themselves right out of their jobs.
However, after one more game, I won't care anymore since Nebraska will no longer be playing football in our conference. Bubba Come to Jayhawk Land! Bubba is like Taylor Martinez. I have seen him playvery good! SO tired of how sensitive people are. I'm still not over the Mangino situation. This is football, get over it. The fact is they were penalized for yards. The players are old enough to know the rules, and they broke them. It doesn't matter if they agree with the rules or not. Sportswriters in Lincoln and Omaha have written articles claiming that Big 12 referees are purposely punishing Nebraska for leaving the Big NU fans believe it's a conspiracy, and they're looking forward to their move to the Big So am I.
Polini and Osbourne can both go hug each other all day and talk about how great Nebraska sportsmanship is for all I care. Their fans and that program use to be extra nice and all goody-tushu back in the day to cover up for the delinquent, woman-beating, gang-banging players they supported on their team. Oh, and their so-called walk-ons really weren't walk-ons.
That little loop hole they milked for years were kids hometowns paying for those kids to go to that college, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that an NCAA violation these days. It's about as corrupt as a system as K-State football allowing their not so bright JUCO athletes to transfer D's in order to be eligible.
My prediction is that Bubba Starling won't set foot on a Nebraska football field. Rumors I've heard is that he is a lock for a 1st round pick in the MLB draft. Hmmmm take a 2 Mill signing bonus or go and get "yelled" at.
Tough decision They dont run political campaigns, they don't give a rip about the next school board election, most of em probably cannot name their US representative, and they damn sure don't care about hurting feelings.
I watched the game and the officiating was one-sided. The Nebraska player who got penalized for kicking was trying to get the aTm player to stop pinching his privates and this replay is viewable on YouTube.
Secondly, doesn't anyone remember the Mangino rant after the bogus offensive pass interference call against Charles Gordon in the game against UT that would have guaranteed KU's upset of Vince Young's Longhorn team? I remember back in the 80's when KU played aTm here in Lawrence, the Aggie player caught the pass near the long jump pit and the official called it a completion although the player was clearly out of bounds.
If memory serves the call was so atrocious that someone came out of the stands to punch that official. I bet if you ask Arkansas fans, they'll tell you bunches of times they hated getting homered by TX officiating.
Lastly, Nebraska was given the ultimatum by Beebe to announce whether they were staying or going when it should have been TX. Yes, I remember the infamous Mangino rant. So why isn't Pelini fined? Probably because he "merely" cursed at the officials during the game. Mangino made his remarks to reporters in a post-game, public setting. OK, so you don't like the University of Texas.
Neither do I. But, I'm feeling good right now watching Texas getting embarrassed every single week. Watch any recent Mack Brown interview. They're awesome! It's almost as fun as watching Nebraska fans whine during the Callahan years. But, what does this have to do with Nebraska? You can take out 2 or 3 questionable calls, and Nebraska still had 13 penalties. Offensively, without Martinez, they were awful!
They lost because they played an entire football game without scoring a touchdown. Funny how that works Russkie10, so in retort to your comment how do we go about forcing UT to make a decision when to be honest they are the only reason we have a conference. Those 3 are going to follow UT given the opportunity.
So than your left with the Big 8. It all comes down to money but the problem is that this conference could not survive without the state of Texas. I don't disagree with you about some of the calls. Unfortunetly, the refs didn't see the kid pinching the guys leg. All they saw were several attempts at a kid trying to kick a player in the face.
The most egregious call was a roughing the passer penalty on safety Courtney Osborne who nailed Ryan Tannehill on a 3rd down play. Nebraska can still clinch the Big 12 North with a win over Colorado on Friday.
Though Pelini was upset for a good reason, he has to maintain his composure better than that. You can unsubscribe anytime. For more details, review our Privacy Policy. Cam Newton officially returned to practice with the Carolina Panthers on Friday, and the quarterback sure seems happy to be back with his former team.
The Panthers shared a video on Twitter of Newton arriving at practice in a golf cart wit. It's entirely possible Martinez has simply hit the wall in his first college football season. Nebraska is much more talented than Colorado, but Rodney Stewart and the Buffs' figure to at least make things interesting.
All the pressure is Big Red to avoid what would be a brutal finish to the regular season. Nebraska's hopes of an at-large BCS berth may be gone, but there is still a good chance the Huskers end up earning a spot by winning the Big 12 Championship. A win Friday gives Nebraska one final Big 12 North title and a spot in the conference championship.
Nebraska has already beaten Okie State this year with Martinez throwing five touchdowns, and Oklahoma's defense is extremely vulnerable to big plays. Instead of directly referencing the screaming episode aimed at Martinez, Pelini spent much of the press conference apologizing to the officials. In fact, he didn't seem inclined to dwell on his anger issues and attempted to diffuse any controversy.
There is no question Nebraska's administration stepped in and ordered their football coach to apologize.
